Born in St. Louis, Charlie began vacationing at the Lake with his family in 1963. In 1973, he and his wife, Diane (Lemcke) from Webster Groves, moved to the Lake where they raised two sons, Chuck and David, and reside in a home they built on Witches Cove Golf Course in the Communities of Four Seasons. Along the way Charlie’s experience in construction and real estate appraisal served as a natural progression to earning his real estate license and joining his father, Charles F. Welek, III, owner of Welek Real Estate. After serving in several positions with the local real estate board, Charlie was named President of the Bagnell Dam Area Association of REALTORS in 1992. Since that time he has consistently been a multi-million dollar producer.
